We offer these planes as an alternative to sit between Stanley, which are fine for general shop use when set up correctly, and Clifton, which we admit are about as good as you will find but at a price not everyone can afford.

Ideal for final finishing of fine woodworking and general joinery work and the heavier body really does help to increase performance.

The base is precision machined flat to .003in for accuracy and made from fine grey iron castings.

Simple rapid adjustment mechanism made from brass for smooth operation and easy removal of blade for sharpening.

Another indication of the quality and thought that has gone into production is that the base and frog are cast as one. This, combined with the thicker blade, helps to reduce chatter making for a better handling tool and finish to the workpiece.

As this isn't some cheap copy it is made from ductile cast iron and should therefore withstand the odd knock and fall, not that we expect that you will let such a nice tool suffer too much abuse!
